So this week I tried something I have been wanting to try for a long time. The Milk Bath!
As with many trends, it seems it is seen in America first before coming over here. Now, I understand it may seem a strange concept, but I absolutely love the finished look! The colours of the flowers and fruit against the white milk is beautiful.
So what exactly is a milk bath… well if you were to google it, you would come across this link on Wikipedia. It explains the obvious – using milk instead of water and how Cleopatra, Elizabeth I of England, Elisabeth of Bavaria, and others have used milk baths for their beautifying benefits. It really does leave the skin super soft. We also know about the healing powers breast milk has. (If you don’t, here are 6 to get you started 🙂 )
I will now be offering milk baths into my 1 year old portrait sessions. They will make the great addition to an already lively, colourful line up! Depending on how confident your baby is sitting, I will make the decision to which bowl will be more appropriate and safest.
Sitter and portrait sessions are great for capturing those personalities really starting to show, I use a mixture of props and colours to show your child at their best. When doing the milk bath you can either choose fruit or flowers. For boys we can just green up the flowers a little to have a more boyish feel.
