I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Eva when she was just 7 days old. She was so good for us and settled easily on the beanbag and in the props. I like to photograph newborns when they are between 5 – 14 days old. This time frame is a great time to get those sleepy curled up positions.
I love to use different wraps and blankets that show different, delicate textures with hats and headbands, but I also love to use the little tutu and crown! I do like the subtle colours, but I like to add a splash of colour wherever I can.
It’s such a special time for the parents to capture this unique time when their newborns are so small, but I can’t help but feeling thankful that they have also let me be a part of it!
A newborn session can take up to 3-4 hours, it really depends on how the baby settles in to the poses ready for their photo to be taken. It is very relaxed and is usually goes with the flow of when the baby wants feeding or just wants a cuddle!
I like to do some photos with the parents towards the end of the session. I always think it’s a great time to capture that new found special bond.
