We enjoyed some more of the English summer and visited Brockholes Nature Reserve this week.
We had a great time exploring the hides and looking for birds on the lakes. Ducks even broke into the cafe and were chased around under the tables by kids (not by Ellis I must add – he just screamed at them and then was disappointed when they didn’t come near him!) He loved hunting for bugs and found a caterpillar crossing our path. Thankfully I got to the caterpillar before Ellis did, otherwise that caterpillar would not be a caterpillar anymore!
We’ve definitely notice Ellis getting older as this year goes by. He seems to be able to manage his temper tantrums (he’s two, so it would be an abnormal (but oh so a wonderful day!) if we got through a day without one!) The way he manages these tantrums is to be carried – by me! Daddy is just not good enough! Lets just say he is not the lightest! It gives my arms a workout anyway!!
What outing wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the cafe? We enjoyed coffee and cake before Quinn started screaming for milk. Happy days.
I hope you’ve been following A Mother’s Dream from the beginning, but if you haven’t, don’t panic! You can catch up here.
