The Talbots in Lockdown 2020 – Week 4

The Talbots in Lockdown 2020

Week 4 – Monday 13th April

We’ve had a fairly quiet week 4. It’s been the second week of the Easter holidays so we carried on a few Easter themed activities including an Egg hunt in the garden. For some reason this week we decided to do lots of baking (like I need my calorie intake to increase in lockdown anymore!!). There was the creme egg chocolate brownie, an easter themed rocky road and we made what must have been the scariest bunnies in town! (seriously, they were super creepy and they didn’t taste the best! – Quinn passed one over the fence to her friend. I felt I needed to make up for it with a bit of the rocky road so we made a few rocky road deliveries! And besause I really didn’t want to eat it all! (who am I trying to kid? I could have scoffed the lot!)

Dan has continued with the garden and re-paved the stone circle. He’s done an awesome job and moved loads of plants. It is actually becoming a garden you want to spend some time in – only taken 5 years! It certainly has helped with this amazing weather.

So last week I bought something I have been wanting for ages. It’s one of those trays a lot of school and nurseries have. You literally chuck a lot of random stuff on it and the kids just get on with it! Ok, so the schools and nurseries probably have a whole load of reasons for using various things to conform to the curriculum, but honestly, it has been my best buy in the last 2 weeks (I’ve bought a lot!). I put a load of oats and a few pots and spoons with some toy diggers. It’s probably a little young for Ellis but they played… together… nicely! :) Even Max enjoyed the oats. Also filled it with water.

This week has also seen, bug hunting, obstacle courses, paddling pool action, letters to and from friends, washing the dog (she was thrilled! :) ) bubble painting – need to have another look at this as it didn’t work too well, film watching, dog walking, video call scavenger hunt, clapping for our NHS and Keyworkers (Quinn wants to do it every night), den building, ballerina craft, princess dress up, rugby training and what feels like the 15th BBQ in 7 days!

Ellis’ hair is getting quite long, and Dan’s… he’s cut it into a mohawk!

So it’s back to “learning” next week! I’ve missed that phonics guy!
