So here is my little blog / diary for my kids too see when they’re older (and for you guys to check in and see what we’ve been upto! (I know grandparents love this sort of thing, especially as we can’t visit) …
The Talbot’s in Lockdown 2020!
Week 1 – Monday 23rd March 2020
It hasn’t been a bad first week. We’re still trying to get our head around what’s going on in the outside world as well as figuring out what’s going on in our new inside world! One things for sure… we’ve bought more biscuits… and alcohol!
We’ve done bits of handwriting, spellings, maths and a lot of outside play! Thank goodness the weather has been kind to us this week! It’s helped settle the nerves for the kids and me!
There has been bouncing on the trampoline – perfecting our (the kids, not me! ) handstands, flips and cartwheels. Writing and delivering the odd few letters and drawings to classmates, dinosaur shadow drawings, searching for friends over the fence, video calls (some hilarious moments!), face painting, mid afternoon naps (Quinn!), playing hide and seek with friends in the next garden over the fence to each other! (only kids could adapt an old favourite!), searched for shapes around the house, been introduced to the awesome phonics guy on YouTube, lost teeth (as tempted as I have been at times to punch my little darlings in the face this week, I didn’t! There’s always next week ) Joe Wicks – might not see him again – the nation’s “PE Teacher’?!?! (I’ve just seen he is doing a 10 minute work out for seniors! That might be more my thing! 😉 My thighs are still hurting a week later from the VERY little I did on day one! (we changed to cosmic yoga and Andy’s wild workouts) and reading, lots of reading!
Max has been introduced to his walker – mainly so I could have some free arms to supply the ever hungry, snack demanding, bottomless pits! Oh, and me! Anyone else eating more than their body weight in biscuits?!
The dog has been enjoying the company, but I think she is so over the noise! Ruby is finding places to hide (but must be in the sun! I think I might join her next time!).
Dan is off work…. he’s re-paved the patio, cut the hedges in the garden, weeded, built a trampoline, put shelves up in the cupboard, built a compost bin. I think he may have peaked too soon! What else is there to do?? (Don’t worry my Love, I’ll find you something! )
